美國官員10日表示，從墨西哥非法入境美屏東縣枋寮鄉證件借錢 國的移民人數，在10月暴增逾16%。
國土安全部(DHS)表示，他們在10月拘留了4萬6,195人；相較之下，9月是3萬9501人、8月是3萬7,048人。
國土安全部部長強生(Jeh Johnson)發表聲明說，目前在DHS的移民拘留設施中約有4萬1千名個人，而通常這裡的人數是在3萬1千人到3萬4千人之間。
美國移民官員表示，大多數的非法入境者是穿過墨西哥、踏上艱困之旅前往美國尋求工作和安全的中美洲人，他們因為貧窮和國內幫派相關的暴力升高而離開家園。
這項最新的移民數據是在11月8日美國大選結束2天後公布的，移民議題一直是贏得勝選的紐約地產大亨川普(Donald Trump)的競選重點，他曾誓言要沿著西南部的邊界築牆，並且要墨西哥為此付費。
